Hanamkonda: Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan visited the home of a young fan Ponugoti Niranjan, who is confined to his bed due to a rare genetic condition that has stunted his physical growth.
The last wish of 17-year-old Niranjan of Hanuman Nagar was to meet Pawan Kalyan. Upon learning of this through Telangana Jana Sena leaders, he visited Niranjan’s home on Wednesday.
He embraced Niranjan and offered words of comfort. He spoke with Niranjan’s parents, Ponugoti Ramgopal and Manasa enquiring about the boy’s health condition and provided financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh to help cover medical expenses.
He watched photos and videos of Niranjan performing dance moves imitating Pawan Kalyan when he was in better health. He promised Niranjan that he would be the special guest if the movie OG2 was made; Niranjan mentioned that everyone calls him ‘Chota Gabbar Singh.’
During the visit, when Niranjan showed a picture of a puppy and expressed a desire to raise one, Pawan Kalyan promised to buy and send a puppy to him. When Niranjan’s father mentioned the need for the landlord’s permission to keep a dog, the landlord was invited to discuss the matter.
Pawan Kalyan directed the Janasena Telangana State leaders to set up a canteen for Niranjan’s parents to improve their livelihood. Producer Bandla Ganesh, an admirer of Pawan Kalyan, announced financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh to support Niranjan’s family.
Meanwhile, security lapses were seen during Pawan Kalyan’s visit to Bhadrakali Temple. A large number of fans turned out to catch a glimpse of Pawan Kalyan; but police and temple authorities failed to control the crowd of fans.
Hanamkonda ACP Narsing Rao pushed away journalists who had come to cover Pawan’s visit. Over a dozen priests were inside the sanctum sanctorum, while a large number of party activists crowded the area in front of it. Journalists struggled to cover the event.
