Vijayawada: In a move that shook the police and political circles alike in Andhra Pradesh, Chief Minsiter YS Jaganmohan Reddy has shifted the Director General of Police D Gautam Swang on Tuesday.

The DG (Intelligence), Kasireddy VRN Reddy has been given full additional charge as the Head of Police Force until further orders. Orders to this effect were issued on Tuesday.

It is expected that VRN Reddy is likely to be made of the DGP of Andhra Pradesh once his successor to the intelligence post is identified and orders issued. Gautam Sawang has been ordered to report to the General Administration Department. (GAD) pending further orders.
While D Gautam Sawang is from 1986 batch of IPS, VRN Reddy is from 1992 batch.
