Amaravati: Minister for Information and Public Relations Perni Nani has said the direction of Andhra Pradesh High Court has to be complied with on the issue of movie ticket rates.
Reacting to criticism that the Andhra Pradesh government was not in favour of release of Pawan Kalyan’s film `Bheemla Nayak’ in the state, he told reporters here on Friday that the High Court had directed that permission could be taken from Joint Collectors after temporarily withholding the GO.
“Some political parties want to encourage blackmarketing in Andhra Pradesh. And some TV channels, instead of condemning this, support them. They have to follow the high court verdict and not act as they like,” he pointed out.
Explaining the delay in the release the latest GO on the issue, he said that the panel meeting on movie tickets rates was scheduled for February 21, preparing the draft GO by the Cinematography and Home Secretaries and sending it to the Law department on Feb. 22, and issuing the GO on Feb. 23 or 24. “However, it was delayed due to the sudden demise of our friend and Minister Gautham Reddy. When we are mourning the death, some people are criticising that the GO is not issued. What can you say of people who politicise death,” he remarked.
Perni Nani also pointed out that those who spoke one thing on the day of Gautam Reddy’s death, spoke differently from the next day. “When they could postpone the film’s pre-release event due to the death of Gautam Reddy, can’t they put off the release of the film by two days?” he asked.
He also wondered why they were eagerly awaiting Pawan Kalyan’s movie when they never did so in the case of Junior NTR films.
