Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh is going the Telangana way. After announcing new districts, it has decided to have all government offices in the new districts in one place,
Secretary (Planning) Vijay Kumar told mediapersons here on Sunday that integrated Collectorates over an extent of about four lakh square feet would be built in the new districts and all offices including the Superintendent of Police office, would be located in the same place. Once the new districts are ready, the Centre would be informed of it for issuing its notification, he stated, adding that no prior permission of the Centre was needed for forming new districts.

Vijay Kumar said that suggestions would be accepted by the Collectors till March 3 with respect to the new districts and Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy had directed the officials to examine all suggestions. “The final notification for the new districts will be issued in the third week of March and the administration at the new districts will begin from April 2. Segregation of employees will be taken up in March. There will be no problems to employees with respect to promotions and services who will be allotted under `work to serve’ rule,” he stated.
