Andhra Pradesh para swimmers win 29 medals at national championship

Hyderabad: Para athletes from Andhra Pradesh put up an impressive performance, winning 29 medals, including 15 gold, eight silver and six bronze, in the 26th Junior and Sub-Junior National Para Swimming Championship in Bengaluru recently.
Ravikumar Valasanaini (Vizag) and Parnika Nuthangi (NTR District) won three gold medals each, Potnuru Satvik of Vizag won two gold medals, Nidhi Baipotu of Vizag won two gold and a silver, Devasri Chandresh Venisetti of Kakimata won two gold, one silver and a bronze, while Addada Manvith Chowdary of Eluru won one gold, one silver and two bronze medals in the championship.
SAAP Chairman A Ravi Naidu, SAAP VC & MD Mrs S Bharani, and Para Sports Association of Andhra Pradesh president G Koteshwara Rao congratulated the medallists.
Mr Rao thanked the SAAP for all the support in sending the athletes and helping them return with such a rich haul of medals. “We are also grateful to the entire support staff, parents and Sports Association officials for their commitment and sincerity,” he said.
