Tadepalli: Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy has proposed setting up of 16 health hubs in the State to cater to the needs of people who are forced to go to Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad for healthcare.
During a review on COVID control measures in the state here on Friday, he said that the health hubs could be established in Vijayawada, Tirupati, Rajahmundry and other places. About 30 to 50 acres could be acquired for each health hub, he suggested.
“Each hospital should be allotted five acres and hospitals which can invest Rs.100 crore in three years should be given the land. This will ensure that at least over 80 multi and super speciality hospitals are set up. As many as 16 new medical colleges and nursing colleges are being established in our state. With encouragement from government, more hospitals will come up in the private sector as well,” he stated.
