Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday directed officials to make online government services more convenient by leveraging technologies including AI. During an RTGS review meeting at the secretariat, the chief minister enquired with officials about the performance and progress of various departments and directed all departments to improve their efficiency and work towards providing quality services.

“We should leverage technologies such as AI Assistant, Digi Verify, Data Lake and Blockchain to make online government services more convenient and ensure that people can access services without having to visit government offices,” Naidu was quoted as saying in an official press release.

The chief minister directed officials to further streamline data entry information related to the 1,204 services currently being provided through the WhatsApp Governance platform Mana Mitra. He made it clear that data integration should be carried out without requiring citizens to upload certificates. Officials also briefed Naidu on the Kharif crop situation in the state in view of El Nino and said agricultural yields were likely to decline by 20 per cent compared to a normal year.

They suggested that Godavari River water could be supplied to the Krishna Delta through Pattiseema until the end of September. Naidu directed officials to ensure adequate water supply for crops currently under cultivation and instructed them to encourage alternative crops instead of paddy in areas where cultivation had not yet begun. He directed officials to send crop alerts to farmers from time to time and monitor the action taken.

For this purpose, Andhra Pradesh Technology Services Analytics should also be utilised and coordinated with Agriculture and Water Resources Enterprise, he said. He directed officials to ensure that there was no shortage of drinking water and asked them to identify hotspots for the prevention of malaria and dengue. Officials informed the CM that 401 dengue cases had been reported so far this year, compared to 1,361 cases during the corresponding period last year. Naidu advised officials to focus more on renewable energy to achieve the state’s carbon-neutral target and directed them to formulate an action plan for large-scale installation of solar rooftops.
