The Chandrababu-led government is set to launch WhatsApp governance on Thursday (January 30), becoming the first State in India to roll out such a facility.
The idea first came after the TDP government signed an MoU with Meta in October 2024.
Initially, the initiative will offers around 161 services, including Endowments, Energy, Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation, Revenue, Anna Canteens, Chief Minister’s Relief Fund and Municipal Administration. The government aims to increase the services in the coming days.
On Jan 29, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu convened a meeting with the officials in this regard. Naidu said the digital service will reduce the burden on people and streamline access to government facilities thereby cutting bureaucratic hurdles.
He also highlighted the need for cyber security as cases related to such fraud were on the rise and directed officials to remain vigilant.
