Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh government will set up three child care centres with modern medical facilities as part of preparations to meet the much-publicised COVID third wave said to infect even children who are not much affected so far. The centres will come up in Visakhapatnam, Tirupati and Vijayawada-Guntur region.
Announcing this here on Monday at a review meeting of COVID, Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy called for creating awareness on COVID third wave among parents, while continuing supply of nutritious food and vaccines.
Asha and health workers should be given proper training to spot COVID symptoms in children, and all teaching hospitals should set up paediatric wards, he said. All the quality medicines needed for treatment of children should be procured in advance and recruitment of doctors and medical staff should also be taken up, he added.
