Andhra Pradesh’s Gram Sabha initiative gets global recognition
AP Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, has said that it has set a world record within 100 days of coming into power by conducting Gram Sabhas in 13,326 village panchayats across the State in a single day.

Hyderabad: The Gram Sabha initiative of the Andhra Pradesh has garnered global recognition.
The Panchayat Raj and Rural Development department, headed by AP Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, has said that it has set a world record within 100 days of coming into power by conducting Gram Sabhas in 13,326 village panchayats across the State in a single day.
According to a statement from the Jana Sena Party, the World Records union organization recognized the Gram Sabhas conducted by the Panchayat Raj Department of Andhra Pradesh on August 23 and has awarded an official certificate and medal for the achievement. The award was presented by Christopher Taylor Craft, Official Records Manager of the World Records Union, at an event in Hyderabad this morning, it said.
Speaking on the occasion, Pawan Kalyan said it was a great honour that the World Records union representative acknowledged this large-scale participation of people in governance as the most significant village governance initiative ever conducted in a single day.
