Hyderabad: The much-anticipated Andhra Premier League (APL) player auction took place on Sunday in Visakhapatnam, with seven competitive teams participating in the event and each team securing a total purse of Rs 55,00,000 to build their squads.
All seven teams successfully acquired 22 players each during the auction, categorised into Groups A, B, and C for balanced competition.
The highlight of the auction was K V Sasikanth, who fetched the highest bid of Rs 16.25 lakh from Amaravathi Royals, marking a record-breaking deal.
Notable dignitaries present included APL Chairman Sujay Krishna Ranga Rao, Girish Dongre (COO, ACA), and M S Kumar (GM, Game Development, ACA). Adding prestige to the event, Wasim Jaffar, renowned India cricketer and mentor, was seated alongside Royals of Rayalaseema.
