Hyderabad: The second National Qualifier (NQ) of the 2026 season concluded at the Hyderabad Polo & Riding Club (HPRC), Gandipet, with 21 starts across four classes — Children II and Children I Dressage, and Junior and Young Rider Show Jumping — adding six qualifying performances to the 12 recorded on the opening day.

Over the two days of competition, 58 starts produced 18 qualifications for the Junior National Equestrian Championships.

The event was conducted in association with the Telangana State Equestrian Association (TSEA), under the aegis of the Equestrian Federation of India (EFI).

Dressage set the tone on the final day. In the Children I class, Anet Salomi Castilino rode Bella to a score of 71.61%, the highest of the qualifier, while Janampally Hitesh Reddy qualified on Centaur with 61.550%.

In the Children II class, Siddharth Dutta scored 70.000% on Wilbur, the same horse on which he had jumped clear on Thursday. HPRC’s Ananya Gupta also qualified on Sky with 60.625%. Dhruva Potineni, riding Grace, missed the qualifying mark of 60% by less than one percentage point.

In Junior Show Jumping, Chris Jonathan Castilino, riding Premier Handsome Boy, and Prabhnoor Singh Madan, riding Monte Carlos, each finished on four penalties in a field of six. Both qualified.

Mohammed Amaan Ali, the sole participant in the Young Rider category, finished on 12 penalties on Flying Champ and qualified.

Across the two days, Siddharth Dutta and Ananya Gupta each qualified three times across Show Jumping and Dressage, while Anet Salomi Castilino combined the week’s highest dressage score with a qualifying performance in Children I Show Jumping.

HPRC’s Gautam Sanjay Sujanaani had opened the qualifier on Thursday as the only rider to score above 60% in Junior Dressage.
