Angelina Jolie might have joined Instagram only a few days ago, but the ‘Mr. & Mrs. Smith’ actor already knows how to engage her fans with interesting content on the platform. Jolie currently has 10.2 million followers on the gram. While the human rights activist’s first post was on the Afghan issue, she has now shared personal photos of her daughters for the first time ever.
“End of #summerreading. These are some of the favourites in our house. Would love to know yours,” Jolie captioned two pics of Zahara and Shiloh. While Zahara is seen reading Toni Morrison’s debut novel ‘The Bluest Eye’, Shiloh is engrossed reading ‘The Dark Lady’ by Akala.
“How beautiful they are,” commented an Instagram user named Nadiya Farid. “Love you and your family,” commented a fan page of Jolie on the post.
A source told ‘Entertainment Tonight’ that Jolie felt compelled to join the social media platform after seeing the injustice taking place in Afghanistan since the Taliban rule overtook many of the cities. “Angie felt compelled to join in a moment when women and young people in Afghanistan are losing the ability to communicate on social media and express themselves freely. From her point of view, if she’s able to be a part of the effort to amplify their voices, then she felt it was reason enough to join and use her platform,” the source shared.
