Hyderabad: With the lakes and tanks around the city brimming following heavy rains, the anglers are rushing to the water bodies to net a fish.
Several anglers are reaching the lakes and tanks at Jalpally, Bandlaguda, Balapur, Shamshabad and other areas of the city. Carrying a rod, reel, line, hook, and any one of a wide range of baits, those into recreational fishing are spending hours at the lakes and water bodies.
In a video widely circulated on social media platforms, men can be seen lined up at the Jalpally lake. Holding an umbrella in one hand and the fishing rod in the other, they can be seen fully focused on netting fish.
The Jalpally lake and Umda Sagar lake, also known as ‘Nawab Sahab ka talab’, attract anglers from across Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts. There are also big lakes in Kandukur, Balapur and Maheshwaram mandals in Ranga Reddy district that are also attracting anglers.
