Yadadri-Bhongir: The district Collector Anitha Ramachandran on Wednesday said Vasalamarri village of Thurkapally mandal in the district would be developed on par with Ankapur village in Nizamabad district.
On the direction of the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, the district administration has taken 400 villagers of Vasalamarri, which was adopted by the Chief Minister, to Ankapur in specially arranged nine buses for field visit.
The villagers of Vasalamarri examined the crops pattern, cultivation methods, technology usage, marketing methods adopted by the farmers of Ankapur in Nizamabad district.
Anitha Ramachandran, who led the field visit, told that Ankapur village, which falls in Armoor Assembly Constituency in Nizamabad district, achieved financial and societal development. The farmers of Ankapur have taken up cultivation of commercial crops ground nut, tobacco and turmeric. In addition to this, they have taken up the cultivation of red gram and sweet corn as internal crops. The farmers do not keep the agricultural land idle even for one month in a year. Ankapur village has witnessed comprehensive development in the last 50 years. Inspired by the Ankapur model, 15 surrounding villages also achieved significant development.
She told that methods and techniques of Ankapur would be implemented at Vasalamarri village in the district. Development of the village would become possible only when all the villagers were united, she opined.
