ANRF announces JC Bose Grant for senior scientists in India
The Anusandhan National Research Foundation has launched the JC Bose Grant for senior scientists and engineers in India. The five-year grant provides Rs 25 lakh annually for research expenses and Rs 1 lakh for overheads. Applications are open January 1–February 1.

Hyderabad: Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), DST, Union Ministry of Science and Technology has called for proposals for the new scheme called JC Bose Grant, a restructured form of the JC Bose Fellowship.
The JC Bose Grant is meant to recognise active, senior scientists and engineers within our country for their outstanding performance and contributions. The aspirants should be active and senior scientists/engineers with a record of outstanding performance through indicators like publications, research outcomes, patents, technology transfers, awards, grants, etc. The process of selection for JC Bose grants will be conducted once a year by a Search-cum-Selection Committee specially constituted for the purpose and as per the broad guidelines of the grant.
The research grant of Rs 25 lakh annually will be provided for recurring expenses that cover manpower, consumables, travel, contingency and other costs and non-recurring costs, including Equipment, up to 20 per cent of the annual grant. Additionally, Rs 1 lakh annually (fixed) will also be provided as ‘Overheads’ to the implementing institution.
The duration of the grant will be for five years. In case the principal investigator (PI) superannuates during the term of the grant, the same can be continued if a host institution is willing to continue hosting the PI.
