Vijayawada: BJP state president Somu Veerraju has held the two regional parties in the state–Telugu Desam Party and YSR Congress Party– responsible for failure to build the new capital for Andhra Pradesh.

Addressing the BJP leaders’ meeting at the party office here on Thursday, he said that the farmers in the capital region should realise the facts in the matter.

Referring to the High Court verdict on the day that Amaravati should be developed as the capital, he noted that the BJP was opposed to three capitals which would be like three pieces. The Central government had bestowed special attention on the state and there was need to inform the public on the funds released by the Centre, the development achieved and the welfare it was implemented till date.

Alleging that the YSR Congress Party government in the state was diverting funds meant for village development, Veerraju said Jagan lacked sincerity in uplifting villages. While the state government had no money, it was spending the Central funds as per its whims and fancies, he remarked. Though the Centre was ready to complete the pending railway projects all over Andhra Pradesh, the state government stalled them by refusing to allot land, he pointed out.
