Vijayawada: Leaders of state government employees’ unions on Wednesday burnt the new payslips of salaries and copies of PRC GOs at the Revenue Bhavan here, protesting against the attitude of the Andhra Pradesh government.

PRC Sadhana Samiti leaders Bandi Srinivasa Rao, Bopparaju Venkateswarlu, Suryanarayana, Venkatrami Reddy and others doused the payslips as well as copies of PRC GOs in petrol and burnt them.

Later, talking to media persons Bandi Srinivasa Rao said that the government seemed `to suffer from the disease of change of thought and word and it had inflicted a more serious wound on the employees than the COVID.’ The government which hastily got the revision of pay scales work done by machines in place of men, was in found blunderland, he remarked.

“The government went back on its word and is getting things reversed. It should realise that no one is happy with the new salaries and pensions. The employees who are trying to arrive here to take part in the `Chalo Vijayawada’ rally tomorrow are being detained at their starting points. But come what may, we will go ahead with the programme,” he said.
