AP: TDP to boycott Assembly session on May 20 in view of Covid
TDP State president Atchan Naidu alleged that the Chief Minister was not sincere in COVID control as he failed to convene an all-party meeting and discuss the coronavirus control measures.
Visakhapatnam: The Telugu Desam Party will boycott the state Assembly session to be held on Thursday in view of the severe COVID situation, according to TDP state president K. Atchan Naidu.
Talking to reporters here late on Tuesday evening, he said that it had been a practice both by the Centre and the state to conduct budget sessions in March. “But how can they conduct the session when coronavirus disease is sweeping the state? It looks like they want to formally finish off business in a single day,” he observed.
Atchan Naidu alleged that the Chief Minister was not sincere in COVID control as he failed to convene an all-party meeting and discuss the coronavirus control measures. The government also failed to give vaccines for the people while many lives were lost due to oxygen shortage, he stated.
“The government is playing down the issue. When people are panicking due to corona, it wants to give Rs.15,000 for final rites. We will conduct a mock assembly through zoom shortly and inform the faults of the government to the people,” he said.
