Hyderabad: Apollo Diagnostics on Friday has announced the launch of a state-of-the-art Apollo Diagnostics Global Reference Lab, which will offer a menu of more than 3,000 tests, and provide services to patients and healthcare institutions across India and Southeast Asia, a press release said.
The new facility spread across 30,000 sft at Balanagar is equipped to service both routine and specialised testing needs of the entire Apollo Hospitals group and other private diagnostic centres and hospitals from across India.
With a capacity to process 50,000 samples per day without human intervention, the laboratory has modern molecular biology lab with RT PCRs, CB NAAT and GenXpert testing. “The infrastructure available here can support processing of over 1.5 lakh samples per day, said Dr Sangita Reddy, Joint MD, Apollo Hospitals Group.
The Global Reference Lab is connected to all the 143 labs of Apollo Hospitals at Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, Lucknow etc and another 370 Apollo clinics with labs and over a thousand sample collection centres across the country. All these labs are connected from a quality assurance, which will be ensured at the Global Reference Lab. The laboratory will also receive samples from abroad.
