Hyderabad: Apollo Hospitals has inaugurated the Apollo Centre of Excellence for Sports Injuries & Orthopaedics at its Financial District facility in Hyderabad.

The state-of-the-art centre aims to provide comprehensive care for sports-related injuries, catering to both professional athletes and fitness enthusiasts.


The facility is equipped with advanced diagnostic, surgical and rehabilitation services under one roof.

The inauguration was attended by several distinguished guests, including Anil Kamineni, Founder of KEI Group, and Jayesh Ranjan, Special Chief Secretary, Sports Department, Government of Telangana.

A key highlight of the event was the visit by members of Sunrisers Hyderabad, who toured the newly launched sports injuries facility. Australian skipper Pat Cummins, along with Praful Hinge and Sakib Hussain, was given an overview of the advanced infrastructure and treatment capabilities.

The players appreciated the state-of-the-art facilities and comprehensive care approach, noting its significance for athlete recovery and performance.

Dr Deepthi Nandan Reddy, Head of the Department of Orthopaedics, Apollo Hospitals Financial District, highlighted that sports injuries require precise diagnosis and timely intervention to prevent long-term complications.

He stated that the centre is equipped to handle a wide range of conditions, from ligament injuries to complex joint issues, using advanced surgical techniques and evidence-based rehabilitation protocols to help patients return to activity safely and efficiently.

Tejesvi Rao Veerepalli, CEO, Apollo Hospitals Telugu States, said the launch of the centre marks a significant step towards delivering world-class sports injury care in the region.

He noted that with increasing participation in sports and fitness activities, there is a growing need for specialised treatment and rehabilitation, and the new facility is designed to meet these evolving demands with cutting-edge technology and expert care.

Harkaran Singh, Chief Operating Officer, Apollo Hospitals Financial District, emphasised that the centre brings together a multidisciplinary team of specialists to ensure faster recovery and improved outcomes for patients.

He added that the focus will be on providing personalised treatment plans and seamless care, from diagnosis to rehabilitation, making it a comprehensive destination for sports medicine.
