Aprilia launches SXR GT 125 and SXR GT 175 in India

New Delhi: Aprilia has introduced its SXR GT range in India, comprising the SXR GT 125 and SXR GT 175, with updated engines and larger wheels. The SXR GT 125 is priced at Rs 1.11 lakh, while the SXR GT 175 costs Rs 1.31 lakh (ex-showroom).
The launch comes after Aprilia discontinued the SXR 125 and SXR 160 models in May. Instead of developing an entirely new scooter, Aprilia has based the SXR GT range on the newer engines already used in its SR 125 and SR 175 models.
The scooters feature a maxi-scooter-inspired design, with a large front apron, wide seat and proportions aimed at enhancing their road presence.
The SXR GT 125 is powered by a 124.5cc single-cylinder engine that produces 10.6 hp at 7,400 rpm and 10.4 Nm of torque at 6,200 rpm. The SXR GT 175 gets a 174.7cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine, producing 13.3 hp at 7,200 rpm and 14.1 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm.
Both engines comply with BS6 OBD-II Stage B requirements and are compatible with E20 petrol.
Both variants get 14-inch wheels. The SXR GT 175 features a 5-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, offering access to call and music controls as well as turn-by-turn navigation. It also gets handlebar-mounted controls, single-channel ABS and an exhaust end pipe with a heat shield.
The SXR GT 125 comes with a 5-inch LCD instrument cluster and uses a combined braking system (CBS) instead of ABS.
