Armed burglars who pulled off ATM robbery in Bidar fire at cops in Hyderabad’s Afzalgunj

According to information available, an interstate gang of burglars who were involved in a heist killed two security guards in Bidar of Karnataka, escaped there and reached the city.

Hyderabad: Panic spread in the busy Afzalgunj area of Hyderabad after a gang of burglars reportedly fired upon a police team on Wednesday evening.

According to information available, an interstate gang of burglars who were involved in a heist killed two security guards in Bidar of Karnataka, escaped there and reached the city. The Bidar police following the incident had formed special teams to nab the offenders.


On a tip off, a team headed to Hyderabad and identified two of the gang members at Afzalgunj. The police tried to overpower them when one of them fired upon the police team. The police also retaliated.

One person was injured in the firing and was shifted to nearby Osmania General Hospital.
