Army Chief Upendra Dwivedi calls for technological transformation at CDM Secunderabad
Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi addressed officers at the College of Defence Management in Secunderabad, highlighting the Indian Army’s shift toward technology-driven transformation, proactive deterrence, and multi-domain warfare while stressing leadership, strategic management, and self-reliance in future conflicts.

Hyderabad: General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), visited the College of Defence Management (CDM), Secunderabad, and addressed the participants of the 21st Higher Defence Management Course (HDMC-21), the faculty and the permanent staff of the college.
In his address, the COAS elaborated on the Indian Army’s vision for transformation in response to the evolving security environment. He emphasised that the Indian Army stands at the cusp of a new era defined by technological prowess, organisational agility and self-reliance, anchored in the core values of Truth, Trust and Transparency.
Highlighting key lessons from Operation Sindoor, the COAS underscored India’s shift from a reactive to a proactive deterrence posture. He stressed the need to effectively harness multi-domain operations, data-centric warfare and unmanned systems in future conflicts.
During the interaction with the faculty and International Participants from Friendly Foreign Countries, the COAS exchanged views on strategic management, leadership development and resource optimisation.
