Hyderabad: Around 14,000 candidates from Telangana have registered to appear for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced which is scheduled to be conducted on Sunday.

The examination consists of two papers of three hours each. Paper-I will be conducted from 9 am to 12 noon, while paper-II will be held from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm.

The entrance test will be held in 15 test cities, including Hyderabad, Karimnagar, Warangal, Adilabad, Medak, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Siddipet, and Jangaon districts.

According to the guidelines issued by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)-Kharagpur, which is organising the test, candidates should fill the Covid-19 self-declaration (undertaking) on the admit card completely and properly. To avoid crowding and to maintain physical distance at the centre, students have been asked to follow the entry time at the centre communicated on the day before the exam via SMS.

“Lab/hall/room number will not be displayed outside the test centre to avoid any crowding at any one place in any situation. Instead, this detail will be informed to the candidates when the barcode on the admit card is scanned,” the IIT-Kharagpur said.

Candidates must wear a face mask at all times and are advised to carry their own sanitiser as well as a transparent bottle of water to the centre. Also, students should sanitise their hands by washing with soap and with hand sanitiser before entry into the test centre, it said, adding that hand sanitiser will be available at various locations in the centre.

Before the start of each paper, the seating area will be thoroughly sanitised. Candidates can further sanitise the same with sanitisers that will be made available in the examination lab/room/hall, it added. The JEE Advanced is conducted for admissions into various programmes in IITs.
