Arrangements in place for immersion of Ganesh idols across Adilabad

Adilabad: Ramagundam Commissioner of Police Amber Kishore Jha said that arrangements were in place for smooth conduct of immersion of Ganesh idols across Mancherial district on Saturday. He along with Collector Kumar Deepak inspected the venues of immersion here on Thursday.
Jha said that 2,334 idols would be immersed in Mancherial district. Accordingly, security arrangements were made to prevent untoward incidents during the event. Routes of the procession were identified. Cranes were placed at the venues, while CCTV cameras were installed. Expert divers and District Disaster Rescue Force personnel were deployed at the venues. Nearly 400 policemen were going to be pressed, he narrated.
The commissioner further said that drone cameras would be flown as part of aerial surveillance. He advised organisers to take steps to prevent accidents during the processions of idols. He sought cooperation of the organisers for peaceful immersion and ensuring communal harmony. He stated that bursting crackers and playing loud music systems were banned as a precautionary measure.
Meanwhile, Superintendents of Police Kantilal Patil, Akhil Mahajan and Dr Janaki Sharmila inspected the arrangements being made in Kumram Bheem Asifabad, Adilabad and Nirmal district centres, respectively. They requested the public to conduct the immersion in a peaceful way and avoid inconvenience to others.
