Arrangements in place for Nakrekal Municipality polls
About 21,382 voters including 10,537 male and 10.845 women voters will exercise their franchise in the municipality elections

Nalgonda: Arrangements have been completed for polling to Nakrekal municipality to be held on Friday.
In all, 93 candidates are contesting from 20 wards of the municipality. About 21,382 voters including 10,537 male and 10.845 women voters will exercise their franchise in the municipality elections. The elections would be conducted in 40 polling booths from 7 am to 5 pm.
Officials made the arrangements for polling keeping in mind COVID norms of social distancing, wearing face masks and sanitization of hands at the polling stations. In addition to the polling material, face masks and hands sanitizers have already been distributed to the polling staff.
Voters who come without face masks will not be allowed into the polling stations. Sanitization of polling booths with sodium hypochlorite by municipal workers has also been completed.
About 300 employees have been deputed for election duty, and 400 policemen have been deployed to ensure free and fair polling in the municipality.
Polling material including ballot papers and ballot papers were distributed to the polling staff at the Distribution and Reception Centre setup in the Government Junior College of Nakrekal.
Speaking to the media, Additional District Collector (Local Bodies) Rahul Sharma said polling would be conducted strictly following the COVID norms. Special measures have been taken up to maintain social distance by the voters in the queue lines at the polling booths. After completion of polling, the ballot boxes would be shifted to Government Junior College at Nakrekal and kept in strong rooms. The counting of votes would be taken up on May 3, he added.
