Arundhati Reddy receives warm welcome after Women’s World Cup victory

Hyderabad: India fast bowler Arundhati Reddy, a member of the Indian team that won the Women’s World Cup by defeating South Africa in the final in Mumbai last week, was given a warm reception upon her arrival at Hyderabad Airport on Thursday.
Sports Authority of Telangana chairman Shiva Sena Reddy and the VC & MD of SATG, Mrs. Sonibala Devi, received the Indian cricketer.
Speaking on arrival, Arundhati said it was a dream come true to be a part of the victorious World Cup team and credited the historic victory to a collective team effort.
“It was pure joy to see the Indian team emerge as winners in such a terrific final. Truly unforgettable moments,” said the 28-year-old pacer, who has been an integral part of the Indian team in major campaigns for quite some time.
“Yes, we do hope that women’s cricket will witness a new chapter, as this World Cup win should motivate many young girls to take up sports and dream big,” Arundhati added.
