As Prabhas celebrates his birthday, here is how his fans pay tribute

Hyderabad: Prabhas is a star of epic proportions. Starting his film journey with ‘Eeswar’ nearly 20 years ago way back in 2002, the actor catapulted to stardom with just a couple of movies soon after his debut, first with ‘Raghavendra’ and then with ‘Varsham’ the following year. 

His portrayal as a hot-blooded restless youth who doesn’t tolerate injustice earned him an overnight stardom in ‘Raghavendra’. And then ‘Varsham’ broke box office records with massive collections worldwide.

The role he played as Sri Lankan refugee Sivaji in ‘Chatrapathi’, who finds himself displaced in port city Vizag, is one of the most-praised characters till date.  And then he was seen as a student named Munna, who aims to kill a mafia don.
 Movies like ‘Bujjigadu’, ‘Mr Perfect’ and ‘Darling’ have portrayed Prabhas as a street-smart guy while Puri Jagannath showed him as an orphan Chotu who was raised on streets and earns a living by helping police in ‘Ek Niranjan’. And then came ‘Baahubali: The Beginning’ which changed the dynamics of cinema trade at the box office. That eventually made him a global film star.

While many had thought Prabhas had shed his chocolate-boy looks in action thriller ‘Saaho’, the posters of upcoming ‘Radhe Shyam’ were in stark contrast to how he looked in his previous movie. Forthcoming movies such as ‘Salaar’, ‘Adipurush’, ‘Spirit’ all are being made on massive proportions and budgets keeping his growing stature in view.

As he celebrates his birthday on Saturday, here we look at a few things that his staunch fans have done to mark the occasion.

— A devoted fan chose to inaugurate his hotel by featuring the poster of ‘Radhe Shyam’ in the backdrop.

— Baahubali Ganapati was one of the avatars that people wanted to worship Lord Ganesh during Ganesh Chaturthi.

— The craze isn’t restricted to just idols, it spread to different places such as this one – a hotel started serving Baahubali Thali to attract customers. The massive thali stacked with Devasena paratha,Kattappa biryani, Bhalladeva Patiala Lassi, Sivagami Shaahi – has become a fad and very soon several food chains followed cue to make quick bucks.

— A staunch fan of Prabhas has recently got a full-back covering tattoo. The picture went viral on the internet. Another similar fan from Russia had Prabhas tattooed on her back expressing her love for the Rebel Star.

— Even Prabhas wouldn’t have thought that ‘Baahubali’ would attain such fame. Baahubali themed toys and accessories started to emerge in the market.

— Here is an instance that describes how star Prabhas is loved by people from far-eastern countries like Japan.

A 10-member lady fan group from Japan landed at Prabhas house to meet him in person. However, their dream got shortlived as they couldn’t meet the star. But a picture of them went viral on the internet when they clicked one before Prabhas’ house.

Not to forget, a food company in Japan used his image on packed products to boost sales. The company started selling a spicy drink with Prabhas image on the package. The smart trick must have raked in good bucks for the company. Leaving alone the marketing strategies, such feats showcase how people admire Prabhas at international level.
