Ashish Mehrotra takes charge as Senior Deputy General Manager of South Central Railway
Senior railway officer Ashish Mehrotra, a 1992-batch IRSEE officer, assumed charge as Senior Deputy General Manager and Chief Vigilance Officer of South Central Railway. He previously served in key electrical engineering and leadership roles across Indian Railways, including Northern Railway and IRCON.

Hyderabad: Senior railway officer Ashish Mehrotra assumed the charge of Senior Deputy General Manager, South Central Railway (SCR) here on Wednesday.
He belongs to the Indian Railway Service of Electrical Engineers (IRSEE) 1992 Batch. Earlier taking charge of the new assignment of Senior Deputy General Manager & Chief Vigilance Officer, SCR, he was serving as the Chief Electrical Distribution Engineer (CEDE), Northern Railway, New Delhi.
Prior to joining as Chief Electrical Distribution Engineer, Northern Railway, New Delhi, he worked as Principal Chief Electrical Engineer, Locomotives Works, Patiala wherein he has contributed significantly in the domain of electrical distribution and infrastructure management.
Mehrotra had worked in many capacities in Indian Railways such as Chief General Manager, IRCON, New Delhi; Director (Safety), Railway Board, New Delhi.
He was conferred with the prestigious President’s Medal (RSC) in 1995, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Managing Directors Award in 2000, Railway Minister’s Award in 2006 and Ati Vishisht Rail Sewa Puraskar in 2023.
