Kumram Bheem Asifabad: A headmaster and an auxiliary nurse midwife (ANM) were suspended for dereliction of duty following the death of Athram Anurag, a Class VII student of the Ashram School at Pangidimadara village in Tiryani mandal, on Tuesday.
In a statement, officials of the Tribal Welfare Department said school headmaster Sagar and the ANM attached to Tiryani Primary Health Centre were placed under suspension for negligence. They assured that all possible support would be extended to Anurag’s family.
The officials said the school staff failed to inform authorities about the student’s health condition in time. They maintained that Anurag’s life could have been saved had the staff raised an alert.
Asifabad RDO Lokesh visited the school, conducted an inquiry and consoled the bereaved family.
