Kumram Bheem Asifabad: Assistant Superintendent of Police S Chitharanjan led the ceremonial parade at the historic Golconda Fort on the occasion of the 79th Independence Day celebrations on Friday, winning laurels from many for his drill standards. It was his second time leading the parade.
A 2022-batch IPS officer of the Telangana cadre, Chitharanjan led the parade with a perfect display of precision. He had earlier commanded the ceremonial parade during the Telangana Prajapalana Dinotsavam celebrations on September 17, 2024. He drew attention for adopting a people-centric approach to policing and close engagement with tribal youth in Asifabad Sub Division.
He was instrumental in transforming the old Tiryani Police Station into a public library and converting the old Wankidi Police Station premises into a playground. His sustained campaigns helped in checking ganja cultivation in forest-fringe areas.
