BJP leader Dr P Harish Rao vowed that he would continue with his struggle in support of podu farmers in different forms in the future

Kumram Bheem Asifabad: The Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) leader Dr P Harish Rao ended his hunger strike launched in support of podu farmers, in the presence of former Peddapalli MP Dr G Vivek at Rebbena village in Bejjur mandal on Tuesday. He began the protest on Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion, Harish Rao vowed that he would continue with his struggle in different forms in the future. He said that he would take up a walkathon, rasta roko, among other forms of protests, to achieve his goal. He demanded that the government address the podu cultivation issue at the earliest.


He added he withdrew the protest as per the suggestion of BJP State president Bandi Sanjay and Vivek. Dr Vivek too demanded the government to focus on the long-pending problem of farmers who rely on tilling forest lands.

He was accompanied by former Minister Thilavath, Konga Satyanarayana. A large number of farmers belonging to Bejjur, Penchikalpet and Chintalamanepalli mandal were present.
