Kumram Bheem Asifabad: Collector Rahul Raj instructed officials to make arrangements for the smooth conduct of Pranahita Pushkaralu slated from April 13 to 24. He along with Sirpur (T) MLA Koneru Konappa inspected the works at bathing ghat on the banks of Pranhita river at Thummidihetti village in Koutala mandal on Friday.

Rahul Raj told the authorities of various departments to ensure the arrangements were made before the commencement of the event and to avoid inconvenience to the devotees. He asked the officials of the Roads and Building Department to build an approach road from the outskirts of the village to ghats and to set up signboards.

The Collector asked the officials of rural water supply to take steps to keep the banks clean. He told them to prevent the drowning of devotees by erecting caution boards at the deepest spots of the river. He wanted them to deploy expert divers and to create rooms for helping women to change dresses. He advised the authorities of the medical and health department to keep a team of doctors for handling emergencies.

Konappa said that thousands of devotees belonging not only to Telangana, but neighboring Maharashtra would participate in the holy bathing and requested the officials to make appropriate arrangements. He stated that the State was organising the event for the first time after the formation of Telangana and arrangements should enhance the image of the government.
