Kumram Bheem Asifabad: The bloated body of a man who went missing on Wednesday was fished out from a farm well on the outskirts of Kaniki village in Koutala mandal mandal on Monday. A person was reportedly detained for alleged involvement in the murder.
Sirpur (T) Sub-Inspector M Ravi said that the deceased was identified as Gurle Sekhar (36), a daily wage earner from Karjapalli village in Sirpur (T) mandal. It is said that the prime accused, Chilukaiah, a native of Karjapalli village was already apprehended and was being interrogated.
Sekhar was allegedly murdered by some unidentified persons and his body was tied to a cement pole before being dumped in the well. He left home on October 13, citing some work. He did not return till Sunday. His wife Girija lodged a complaint with police. Sirpur (T) police registered a missing case and took up investigations.
It is learned Chilukaiah nursed a grudge against Sekhar following the death of his elder brother in the past. He eliminated the daily wager by taking assistance of five others a few days back. He brutally murdered Sekhar at Gurudupet village in Koutala and dumped the body in the well. He has confessed to the crime and will be produced before a court on Tuesday, police sources said.
