Kumram Bheem Asifabad: The ancient Sri Satyanarayana Swamy Devasthanam of Gudem in Dandepalli mandal registered an income of Rs 6.45 lakh for a period of three months. The counting of hundial was held on the premises of the shrine on Friday.
Executive Officer of the temple Anusha, in a statement, said that the abode of Lord Satyanarayana had earned an income of Rs 5.07 lakh by way of offerings by devotees from July 21 to October 21 and Rs 1.38 lakh through sales of tickets for performing various services on the occasion of recent full moon day. The counting was conducted in the presence of Endowments Department Inspector R Kishan Goud.
Located on the right bank of Godavari, the shrine is a major pilgrim centre in Mancherial district, which is thronged by pilgrims belonging to not only various parts of the State, but also neighbouring Maharashtra. As a customary ritual, couples perform Sri Satyanarayana Swamy Vratham at the temple for fulfilling their desires.
