Kumram Bheem Asifabad: Kaghaznagar Inspector Ch Mohan has been accused of assaulting a retired army man over a land dispute on the premises of Kaghaznagar police station on Sunday. The police, however, denied the allegations and accused the ex-service man of thrashing a person from Kaghaznagar over the dispute.
It is learned that Shiva, the ex-service man assaulted one Pavan after entering into a heated argument over ownership of a piece of land situated at Sirsilk Colony in the town. Then, Pavan lodged a complaint with police who in turn summoned Shiva to the police station for questioning. Shiva told the media later that Inspector Mohan slapped him with slippers.
Shiva claimed that he would lodge a complaint with Ramagundam Commissioner of Police Chandrasekhar Reddy, who is in-charge SP of Kumram Bheem Asifabad district, and other top officials against the police officer for assaulting him under the guise of questioning. He said he had photographs of the assault and claimed that he had purchased the land five months ago.
When asked, ASP YVS Sudheendra said that Shiva was booked for assaulting Pavan. However, an inquiry would be conducted into allegations levelled by the former army man against the Inspector and whether he had cooperated with the investigating officers, he stated.
