Asifabad, Mancherial see light to moderate rains
Light to moderate rains disrupted life in Kumram Bheem Asifabad and Mancherial districts. Koutala and Vemamanapalli mandals recorded the highest rainfall. The Godavari river crossed the first warning mark in Basar, prompting authorities to alert residents and farmers.

Kumram Bheem Asifabad/Mancherial: Parts of Kumram Bheem Asifabad and Mancherial districts received light to moderate rains from Thursday night to Friday morning, disrupting normal life.
According to the Telangana Development Planning Society, Kumram Bheem Asifabad recorded an average rainfall of 30.7 mm. Koutala mandal received the highest rainfall of 48.9 mm, followed by Dahegaon with 47.2 mm. The district registered 1,248 mm of actual rainfall against the normal 1,019 mm between June 1 and September 26, reflecting an excess of 23 percent.
Mancherial district saw an average rainfall of 25 mm, with Vemamanapalli mandal receiving the highest of 52 mm. Over 30 mm of rainfall was recorded in Thandur, Hajipur, Bheemini, Kannepalli, Nennal, Bellampalli, Naspur, Bheemaram, Jaipur, Chennur and Kotapalli mandals. The district’s actual rainfall stood at 993 mm against the normal 920 mm for the same period.
Meanwhile, the Godavari river crossed the first warning mark at the temple town of Basar in Nirmal district, following heavy rains in upstream areas. Authorities advised residents to stay alert, while fishermen and farmers were asked to avoid water bodies, flooding streams and overflowing irrigation tanks.
