Asifabad road accident: Death toll rises to two after injured man dies in Mancherial hospital
The death toll in a road accident in Kumram Bheem Asifabad district rose to two after 45-year-old Nikure Ananth Rao died during treatment in Mancherial. His uncle Rajaiah was killed earlier, while another injured person remains stable.
Kumram Bheem Asifabad: Death toll has risen to two in Asifabad road accident with another person succumbing to injuries during treatment in a hospital in Mancherial on Friday.
Police said that Nikure Ananth Rao (45) of Rechini village died while undergoing treatment.
Earlier, Rao’s uncle Rajaiah (65), a daily-wage earner, was killed instantly, while Ananth and Mallu Mera sustained injuries after a two-wheeler on which they were travelling overturned when he lost control at Salugupalli village on Thursday.
Ananth Rao and Mallu were initially rushed to a hospital in Kagaznagar. Ananth was later shifted to Mancherial as his condition deteriorated. Condition of Mallu is said to be stable.
The three were returning to their native place after consulting an ophthalmologist in Bellampalli when the incident occurred. Shankar, son of Rajaiah, lodged a complaint with the police. Investigations have been taken up.
