Kumram Bheem Asifabad: A show-cause notice was on Friday slapped on Bejjur Primary Agriculture Cooperative Society chairman Arshad Hussain for misappropriation of Rs 27.77 lakh by colluding with secretary of the society.
As per the notice issued by District Cooperative Officer Tharamani, Arshad was asked to give his explanation on March 10 as to why action was not initiated against him for withdrawing the funds Rs 27,77,783 for personal needs by taking help from the secretary of the society. Else, he would be disqualified to the post and would be discontinued as executive council member of the society.
Arshad drew flak from members of the society for swindling the funds. He denied allegations leveled against him. He, however, was found to have committed irregularities in an internal inquiry conducted by the authorities of the cooperative department. Two notices were served to him, but he rejected them. This was the last opportunity to provide his explanation with regard to the misappropriation.
