Kumram Bheem Asifabad: A tiger continued to move near an irrigation tank at Kondapalli village in Penchikalpet mandal for the second day on Tuesday.
Penchikalpet FRO Anil said a resident tiger had been moving in the forests of Kondapalli for the last few weeks. The movement of the tiger was being tracked using animal trackers, he said, adding that two teams were formed to trail the tiger. Locals were also warned over the presence of the big cat.
The Forest officials advised the villagers to be cautious and to avoid sudden confrontation with the tiger. They urged the farmers not to set electrified fences meant for preventing damage of crops by wild animals.
However, farmers expressed concern over their safety following movement of the tiger. They said that they stopped harvesting the cotton crop and many other farm activities fearing being attacked by the tiger. Pasula Nirmala from the same village was mauled to death by a tiger in 2020.
