Hyderabad: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai on Wednesday stated that the division of assets between the Telugu States of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, was yet to be completed. He stated that certain issues required mutual agreement between the two States which can be resolved with the cooperation of the State governments through discussions and mutual consultations.
In response to a question posed by BJP MP 0 in Rajya Sabha, the union Minister stated that several representations had been received from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana governments for division of assets as per Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014. He stated that the union Home Ministry made efforts to build consensus between the two States to resolve bilateral issues amicably. The Ministry of Home Affairs held 26 review meetings and continues to hold regular meetings with both the State governments in this regard.
