ASTHRA 2.0 engineering innovation meet inaugurated at BVRIT
The two-day ASTHRA 2.0, a national-level engineering creativity and innovation competition, was inaugurated at BVRIT, Narsapur. Prof Chandrashekar Sharma of IIT-Hyderabad urged students to transform classroom learning into practical innovations and embrace emerging technologies like AI and Data Science.

Medak: The two-day ASTHRA 2.0, a national-level engineering creativity and innovation competition, was inaugurated at BV Raju Institute of Technology (BVRIT), Narsapur on Friday.
Addressing the participants in the competition, chief guest and HOD, Chemical Engineering at IIT-Hyderabad, Prof Chandrashekhar Sharma emphasised the importance of transforming classroom knowledge into practical engineering innovations.
He called upon the students to embrace emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Data Science, and Machine Learning, and to pursue research and innovation. Prof Sharma also assured the participants that IITH was always ready to support young innovators. He highlighted that ASTHRA would provide an excellent platform for converting theoretical concepts into practical engineering solutions.
As part of the first day’s events, safety inspections for the React-O-Car competition were successfully completed, while the Tech-O-Car and Cube-X competitions were concluded. A total of 24 teams from leading institutions across India are participating in ASTHRA 2.0.
Executive Committee member of the Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers (IIChE) Prof AVN Swamy, Principal of BVRIT Sanjay Dubey, Director Dr K Lakshmi Prasad, Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering, GB Radhika, and others were present.
