Hyderabad: Atharv Ability, an initiative by Lupin, expands its footprint with the establishment of a state-of-the-art neuro-rehabilitation facility in Gachibowli, Hyderabad. The Center marks Atharv Ability’s entry into South India and builds on the experience and clinical model developed through its presence in Mumbai.
The Hyderabad facility has been designed to address the growing need for comprehensive neurological rehabilitation by combining advanced technologies, clinical expertise, and multidisciplinary care. The Center focuses on helping individuals affected by neurological and developmental conditions improve functional outcomes, regain independence, and enhance quality of life.
According to the World Health Organization, neurological conditions affect more than three billion people worldwide and are now the leading cause of ill health and disability globally. Stroke remains among the largest contributors to this burden, often leaving survivors with long-term physical, cognitive, and communication challenges that require sustained rehabilitation and support.
India accounts for nearly 10% of the global stroke burden, with more than 1.25 million new stroke cases reported in 2021. As life expectancy increases and risk factors such as hypertension, diabetes, sedentary lifestyles, and environmental influences become more prevalent, the need for structured rehabilitation services is becoming increasingly important.
Delayed treatment-seeking behavior, limited awareness of rehabilitation options, and uneven access to specialized facilities can impact long-term recovery, particularly for patients living outside major urban areas. The facility combines advanced rehabilitation technologies with evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as robotic-assisted gait training systems, robotic hand rehabilitation technologies, aquatic therapy facilities, advanced neuro-gym infrastructure, and a dedicated pediatric rehabilitation wing.
Atharv Ability stands apart as the out-patient based rehabilitation center in the city, significantly reducing patients’ exposure to hospital-acquired infections and enabling a safer, more focused recovery environment.
