Karimnagar: Finance Minister T Harish Rao on Monday slammed the BJP stating that attacks on Dalits and rape of Dalit women continue in States where the party was in power, and cited the example of the mowing down of farmers in Lakhimpur Kheri recently.
“BJP leaders are trying to create doubts in the minds of Dalit about the Telangana Dalit Bandhu scheme through false propaganda. Do not believe in BJP’s false propaganda,” the Minister said, and assured that the benefits of the scheme will reach every Dalit family in the State.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, who achieved Statehood for Telangana after waging a long struggle, will not go back on his promise, and each and every Dalit family in the State will reap the benefits under the scheme, he said, participating in an election campaign in Tekurthi of Illandakunta mandal for the October 30 by-election to Huzurabad Assembly bypoll.
Describing the BJP as a party of bandits, Harish Rao also found fault with Eatala Rajender for joining a party that was constantly increasing prices of essential commodities. “Ignoring these aspects of BJP, Rajender joined the saffron party for his own selfish gains,” he said, and pointed out that Chandrashekhar Rao gave importance to Rajender and made him Minister twice. Rajender, however, joined BJP after backstabbing Chandrashekhar Rao and TRS,” he said.
Assuring the Gouda community people that they would be provided mopeds on the lines of fishermen, he asked the BJP leader to convince the BJP government at the Centre to supply petrol to the mopeds.
The State government, he said, was implementing different schemes such as 24 hours free power supply to agriculture, Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bima, Aasara pensions, Kalyanalami, KCR kit and other schemes. “While the State government is providing everything for the welfare of all sections of the society, the Central government was imposing a burden on common people by increasing prices of diesel, petrol and cooking gas. So, people should decide whether they want to exercise their votes for TRS or BJP,” Harish Rao said.
The Minister appealed to the people to give a chance to TRS candidate Gellu Srinivas Yadav in the Huzurabad by-poll. “I will not ask you to vote for TRS again if we fail to fulfill promises made during the election campaign,” he said.
