Hyderabad: Aurobindo Pharma, through its CSR arm, Aurobindo Pharma Foundation, has set up an oxygen generation plant costing Rs 1 crore at Gandhi Hospital. The plant with 0.5 tons per day capacity was formally handed over to the hospital authorities by Aurobindo team lead by Suresh Raman on Friday.

This plant will augment the supply of oxygen to meet the growing requirements to treat critically-ill Covid patients. Suresh said Aurobindo has spent around Rs 1 crore on procurement of machinery, equipment and converting the nitrogen plant into an oxygen generating plant.

Aurobindo Pharma Foundation head S Sadananda Reddy said the organisation has taken initiatives to support government hospitals to meet the demand for medical oxygen through various measures.
