Hyderabad: Allegedly upset over her poor performance in studies, a teenage girl allegedly jumped to her death from a multi-storied building in Miyapur late on Tuesday.

The victim, Jahnavi Negi (17), a Class 12 student in a private CBSE school, was staying with her parents Virender Singh Negi, Sonia Negi and younger sibling Tarun Negi in an apartment for the last two years.

According to the police, for the last few months, Jahnavi was quite upset over her poor performance in examinations. She even isolated herself from her family members. On Tuesday, when her family members were absent, Jahnavi is suspected to have jumped from the ninth floor of the apartment building and ended her life.

“The security guard heard a huge sound and found her lying in a pool of blood on the ground. They tried to shift her to hospital, but it was too late by then,” police said.

The Miyapur police said no suicide note was found. The body was shifted to the Osmania General Hospital for autopsy, while a case has been registered and investigation is on.
