Auto driver hacked to death in Medak village, police launch probe

Unidentified miscreants brutally murdered a 45-year-old auto driver, Thota Kamalakar, at Kamalapur village in Medak district while he was asleep. His children discovered the body. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation with forensic support.

Medak: In a gruesome incident, unidentified assailants hacked a man to death with sharp weapons at Kamalapur village in Pedda Shankarampet mandal on Thursday.

The victim was identified as Thota Kamalakar (45), an auto driver whose wife died recently. He was attacked while sleeping on the premises of his house.


The murder came to light early in the morning when Kamalakar’s two children woke up and found him lying in a pool of blood.

Upon receiving information, Inspector Renuka and Sub-Inspector Praveen visited the spot and registered a case. The police pressed into service a forensic team and a dog squad to assist in the investigation.

The body was shifted to the government hospital for postmortem. A case has been registered and investigation is underway.
