Sangareddy: Animal Warriors Conservation Society (AWCS), in association with Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), conducted a seed ball-making activity at the AWCS’s rehabilitation centre near Patancheru on Sunday.
Over 50 AWCS volunteers and students have joined hands to make 3,000 seed balls at the rehabilitation centre on Sunday afternoon. The seed balls were made using some eight varieties of seeds, which were primarily found in the wild in the State.
Meanwhile, the IOCL wanted to distribute these seed balls to people at three important filling stations in Hyderabad by inviting badminton star Pullela Gopichand on June 5, which is celebrated as World Environment Day.
Speaking to Telangana Today, Pradeep Nair, founder of AWCS, said that the IOCL and AWCS wanted to spread a message on the need to grow trees on World Environment Day.
He said that they wanted to encourage the people who would go on weekend trips to collect these seed balls, and throw them in the wild and empty lands in the rural parts.
In addition to the seed balls, Nair said that they will also distribute different seeds to people on this occasion.
