AWPO trains 32 ex-servicemen from Telangana, AP as drone pilots

Hyderabad: The Army Welfare Placement Organisation (AWPO), under the aegis of HQ Telangana and Andhra Sub Area (TASA), organised a Drone Pilot Training Programme for ex-servicemen from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
This initiative, conducted in collaboration with Sahyog Care Foundation, empowered 32 ex-servicemen with comprehensive drone pilot training.
The 10-day programme comprised four days of theoretical instruction at AWPO’s Secunderabad premises, supplemented by hands-on practice on simulators at Keesara, prior to six days of practical drone flying training in the field and two days dedicated to exploring industry applications and entrepreneurial opportunities.
The training yielded results, with four companies expressing interest and conducting interviews with the candidates and 12 candidates showing interest in an entrepreneurial model with IPAGEUMA (India Drone Academy).
Three candidates opted for advanced training and others were shortlisted for technical and tech-admin roles, pending a second round of interviews.
